April begins on Maundy Thursday, followed, of course, by Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. Easter only makes sense if we first experience the passion of Jesus. On Maundy Thursday we remember that last night of Jesus with his disciples, eating their last supper together, washing their feet, praying in the garden, his arrest. On Good Friday, we hear the last words of Jesus on the cross. On Holy Saturday, we pray, we wait in the uncertainty of the tomb. Each worship service helps us to remember and experience these moments in Jesus’s life. And then, after the deep darkness of death, we rise with Christ and celebrate the joy of resurrection on Easter Sunday!
