When a community is impacted by a natural or civil disaster, The United Methodist Church is there to alleviate suffering and offer critical support through UMCOR. This vital work extends beyond immediate relief, helping communities rebuild their lives and recover over the long term. In 2025 UMCOR awarded 389 grants, totalling $27.44 million dollars to annual conferences, episcopal areas, Disaster Management Offices (DMOs) and ecumenical organizations to help communities carry out their own disaster response, recovery and mitigation efforts. As we enter the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane season, our offering will go directly to prepare, rebuild, and carry communities through disasters and their aftermath.
