The Longest Night Service is Saturday, December 21, at 7 p.m., a change from the previously announced time of 7:30 p.m. This time of worship and remembrance helps those who are celebrating the holidays in a minor key.
“There are so many for whom the tide of mourning still ebbs and flows, but people of faith can honor the birth of Jesus away from the dazzling festivity and cheery excitement of crowded holiday gatherings,” says Catherine Williams, assistant pastor. “ We believe that God is with us, even on the darkest of nights. We will have candlelight — the soft, memorial glow of candles lit to honor the memory of loved ones who are no longer with us.” All are welcome.
