Prayer Pilgrimage

Learn about the hurt, hope, and experiences of our neighbors in the Witherspoon-Jackson Historic District. This resource was put together for a live, in-person event. However, we invite all to take the tour on their own, at their own pace!

"Free from Fear"

The disciples were hiding for the “fear of the Jews” in John, and then in Acts they are outspoken in the midst of the Jews, preaching and teaching throughout Jerusalem. When the Resurrection of Easter is alive in our hearts, we see the world free from fear, full of possibilities of God’s resurrection in the world –free to build bridges!

"Looking Beyond the Church"

In order to understand who Christ is, we sometimes need to look to the other sides at which we are not used to looking. When we look beyond the church community, Jesus teaches us that loving Christ means loving neighbors and expanding our bridges of love.

"What God Has Made Clean"

How often have we gotten it wrong and burned bridges rather than building them? Over time, we have seen that the Holy Spirit has been working to call us to a more faithful witness in the world, and our Youth can call us to the next steps of being faithful.

"Where God Leads"

God often sends us places we might not go on our own. God sends us to those places for the sake of those we meet there,

for our own sakes, and often,

because of what we can do together.

"Witnesses to the Ends of the Earth"

Though “witnessing” for many of us is deeply uncomfortable, we are inviting to build bridges between our experiences of new life in Christ and the people, hopes, needs, and hungers in our broader community. It’s not guaranteed to be easy, but we are sent all the same.
